Everyday in the life at 20/20 Institute is a win but there are some days when I feel like I have not just made a good hit and got on base, I feel like I have hit a home run! I had a patient that came to me who had head trauma from the past and suffers from continual headaches. He wears glasses with a progressive (no-line) bifocal and when he wears them, he gets nauseated and dizziness and cannot wear them for long periods of time. He said he has 3 different pair of glasses and cannot see out of any of them clearly. In speaking with the patient, I was not sure we were going to be able to help him, but after lengthy discussion, a thorough evaluation and obtaining his medical history, he was deemed a good candidate for the distance LASIK vision correction. He understood it would still be necessary to wear reading glasses in his particular case, but he was fine with that as long as he could at least have relief from the blurriness he was experiencing. This patient had surgery on Friday and came in giving our staff a “high five” on Saturday. He was smiling from ear to ear and was so appreciative that he could see! He could not remember the last time he had such great vision! I love being an eye doctor and being able to change lives in such a positive way!
